Ruben Mesa, MD, FACP, is the director of UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center and is an international expert in myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), a group of bone marrow disorders that often lead to leukemia including MDS. He has been involved in MPN research for more than 20 years including more than 70 clinical trials. His research has led to the development of new treatment options for polycythemia vera and myelofibrosis.
Dr. Mesa serves on the MPN Education Foundation Scientific Advisory Board and is a board member for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Dr. Mesa will discuss the overlap between MDS (myelodysplastic sydromes) and MPNs (myeloproliferative neoplasms), including diagnosis and treatment options including the latest in clinical trials.
