Detroit 2018
For 35 years, the Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation has been working to provide education, support, and hope for patients living with aplastic anemia, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) and related bone marrow failure diseases. Join us for a morning of fun, remembrance, and awareness at our 3rd annual March for Marrow walk Detroit.

You can register for the walk online through Friday 6/1/18, or on site on Sunday 6/3/18. Our goal is to have 200 people walking and running for bone marrow failure diseases.
Join us - register yourself, build a team, become a virtual walker or make a contribution to support our efforts.

What
Funds raised by the March for Marrow Walk will be used to search for a cure for bone marrow failure disease and support the patients who are living with it.
What to Expect
Registration for the walk will begin at the pavilion. The walk will proceed along the scenic paths of the park.
Festivities include a Moment of Remembrance, silent auction, bone marrow drive, face painting, raffle, lunch, and a day of fun connecting with fellow patients and families affected by bone marrow failure disease.
A Silent Auction will also be part of our Sunday festivities. We will offer many fun, interesting, and exceptional items for bidding.
Your registration fee includes a t-shirt and lunch!
Bring a New or Gently Used Book to the Walk
Brian White, whom we walk in honor of, was a devoted teacher, mentor and advocate for children. To carry on his legacy there we are holding a book drive to benefit children in the greater Metro Detroit area. Find more information here!

Mary, Courtney, and Mallory organized this walk in memory of Mary's husband – and Courtney and Mallory's dad – Brian.
VOLUNTEER
The success of this event depends on our volunteers!
There are many volunteer spots available including site set-up, parking monitor, registration, water tables, refreshments, first aid station, official photographer, and site clean-up.
On the day of the event, volunteers are needed anywhere between 7:00 am - 1:30 pm.

2018 WALK STAR: BRIAN WHITE
Our March for Marrow has been organized in honor of Brian White, who we lost in 2015 due to complications from aplastic anemia. He was an amazing husband, father, uncle, friend, teacher, mentor and so much more.
We can tell you first hand that bone marrow failure is a devastating disease and for patients and family members of those affected by it, it will change your life forever.
Watching someone you love so deeply go through such a dire disease, with such unimaginable bravery, fighting every single day to live, while you can do nothing more than love and support them, praying for the potential of remission is heart wrenching. It is a feeling of helplessness that will ravage and overwhelm your entire being. It is something no one deserves or should ever experience.
For Brian and the cure, our family is personally participating in the walk. We invite you to join us in supporting patients, families and friends; putting an end to bone marrow failure diseases by registering to walk or by making a donation today. A contribution of any kind or size can make a difference and we thank you for any difference you decide to make!
