In joint sponsorship with the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center in Jacksonville, FL, the AAMDSIF Bone Marrow Failure and Myeloid Neoplasia Symposium will provide updates on the most recent research related to the biology, diagnosis and clinical management of bone marrow failure diseases, including myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), aplastic anemia, paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN). The overall goal of this accredited continuing education symposium is to facilitate the translation of research findings into clinical practice and to improve the care of these patient populations.

OBJECTIVES
Upon participation in this activity, attendees will be able to:
1. Provide accurate differential diagnosis of bone marrow failure diseases, including myelodysplastic syndromes, acute myeloid leukemia, myeloproliferative neoplasms, aplastic anemia, and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria;
2. Explain recent advances in research on the genetic characteristics of bone marrow failure diseases;
3. Summarize recent progress in understanding the pathogenesis of myeloid malignancies and bone marrow failure diseases;
4. Describe safety and efficacy data for currently available therapies for bone marrow failure diseases;
5. Identify current therapeutic standards, as well as new and emerging therapies used in hematopoietic cell transplantation.
